About the kitchen
What is Chulha & Co.?
Chulha & Co. is a pure vegetarian Bihari cloud kitchen in Hyderabad. It cooks 5 fresh dishes — litti chokha roasted over coal, sattu paratha, mixed pickle, sattu sharbat and a sattu protein shake — delivered across west Hyderabad in 45–60 minutes, and ships four long-shelf Bihari products (thekua, tilkut, lai and sattu) anywhere in India.
Is Chulha & Co. pure vegetarian?
Yes. Chulha & Co. is entirely vegetarian — no meat, no fish and no egg enters the kitchen, and nothing shares a pan with them. It is not a menu section, it is how the whole kitchen is set up, and that will not change.
What is Bihari food?
Bihari food is the vegetarian-leaning cuisine of Bihar in eastern India, built on sattu (roasted gram flour), mustard oil, panch phoron and food cooked over open coal rather than in a pan. Its best-known dish is litti chokha: wheat balls stuffed with spiced sattu, roasted on coal and dipped in ghee, served with mashed smoked brinjal, tomato and potato.
What is sattu?
Sattu is Bengal gram (chana) that has been dry-roasted on sand and stone-ground into a flour. It carries about 22 g of protein per 100 g, needs no cooking at all, and keeps six months without refrigeration — which is why Bihar has used it as a drink, a paratha stuffing and a field lunch for centuries.
Diet and allergens
Can the food be made Jain, without onion and garlic?
Not on the daily menu. Chulha & Co. cooks on a single prep line, and a Jain preparation means separate utensils and a separate run — a separation we would rather not claim than claim badly. Two exceptions: the Fasting Plan subscription is cooked without onion or garlic, with sendha namak, in a separate section; and catering menus can be quoted that way with notice.
Is there anything gluten free?
Some of it. At Chulha & Co. the litti and the sattu paratha are both wheat, so the two mains contain gluten. The mixed pickle, sattu sharbat and sattu protein shake do not, and from the shop, lai and sattu have no gluten in them at all. This is a single kitchen, so a severe allergy is worth a message before ordering rather than a guess.
Is the food vegan?
Partly. Chulha & Co. is fully vegetarian but not fully vegan — litti is dipped in ghee and the sattu protein shake is made with milk. Sattu sharbat and mixed pickle contain no dairy, and litti can be served without the ghee dip if you ask.
Is sattu good for diabetics?
Sattu is a slow-releasing, high-protein flour — roughly 22 g of protein per 100 g — which is why it is often suggested over refined flour. Of the drinks at Chulha & Co., sattu sharbat contains no sugar at all, while the protein shake is sweetened with dates and banana and the packaged sweets are all jaggery-based. This is a menu note, not medical advice; ask a doctor about your own diet.

Shipping across India
Can you ship Bihari sweets outside Hyderabad?
Yes — Chulha & Co. ships four products across India: thekua, tilkut, lai and sattu. Inside Hyderabad a rider brings it the same day, usually in 1–2 hours. Everywhere else it goes by courier in 3–6 days. Either way it costs ₹79 and is free above ₹699, sealed and batch-dated with the shelf life printed on the pack.
How long does thekua keep?
Thekua from Chulha & Co. keeps 21 days from the date it is made, sealed and unopened, and each pack is 400 g at ₹280. Of everything in the shop, Sattu keeps longest at 180 days.
What is tilkut?
Tilkut is a dry, flaky sweet from Gaya in Bihar, made of nothing but roasted sesame and jaggery pounded together by hand until the mass turns pale and layered. It is eaten around Makar Sankranti, it shatters rather than chews, and it keeps about two months sealed.
Do you sell Chhath prasad online?
Yes. Chulha & Co. ships thekua and lai — both traditional Chhath prasad — anywhere in India, sealed and batch-dated. They are made to the same brief the festival always demanded: bulk-made, no refrigeration, and sturdy enough to travel.
Ordering and prices
How do I order from Chulha & Co.?
Order directly at https://chulha-and-co.pages.dev or on WhatsApp. Ordering direct is about 15% cheaper than the same food on a delivery app, because the app commission comes out of the price rather than being added to it. First direct order takes 20% off with the code FIRST20.
How much does a meal cost?
Dishes at Chulha & Co. run from ₹60 for Sattu Sharbat to ₹180 for Litti Chokha, so a full meal for one lands around ₹240. Delivery is free above ₹399.
What payment methods do you accept?
Chulha & Co. takes payment on delivery — cash, or UPI to the rider's phone using GPay, PhonePe or Paytm. Packaged goods going by courier are paid by a UPI link we send on WhatsApp before the parcel is dispatched. There is no card or net-banking checkout on the site yet, so nothing is charged when you place the order.
Can I order on WhatsApp?
Yes, and it is how every order reaches the kitchen. WhatsApp +91 62970 57698 directly, or use the website: checkout writes your whole order — items, quantities, GST, delivery fee and address — into a WhatsApp message that you send with one tap. You get a written copy of what you ordered, and so do we.
Do I need to create an account or verify my number with an OTP?
No. Chulha & Co. has no login and no OTP screen. Orders arrive from your own WhatsApp number, which WhatsApp has already verified, so there is nothing further to confirm. We keep your number to deliver the order and to reply to you, and for nothing else.
Is there a subscription or monthly meal plan?
Yes — Chulha & Co. runs weekly and monthly meal plans, including a student plan, an office plan, a fasting plan and one built for parents living alone. Plans can be paused, and they work out cheaper per meal than ordering the same food one plate at a time.
Catering and wholesale
Do you do catering for events in Hyderabad?
Yes. Chulha & Co. caters vegetarian Bihari food for 10 to 500+ guests in Hyderabad, with a live litti counter roasted on site from about 50 guests upward. Per-head pricing falls with headcount, and lead time runs from 2 days for a small order to 10 days for 250+.
Do you supply sweets wholesale or for corporate gifting?
Yes. Chulha & Co. supplies thekua, tilkut and lai wholesale with MRP labelling and batch dates, and does corporate gift hampers from a minimum of 25 boxes with your company card inside and a single GST invoice. Per-unit prices drop at 25 and again at 100.
Still not answered?
Message the kitchen on WhatsApp and a person will reply during 11:30 AM – 3:00 PM and 6:30 PM – 10:30 PM. For a severe allergy, please do that rather than relying on a label.
